Condensation of 2‐amino‐3‐carboxyethyl‐4,5,6,7‐tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene with salicylaldehyde yielded a potentially tridentate Schiff base (HSAT), which formed a series of copper(II) complexes of the type[Cu(SAT)X] in presence of different coordinating anions (X) such as chloride, bromide, nitrate, perchlorate, acetate or sulphate. These complexes were characterized through elemental analytical,
