Di-t-butyltin chalcogenides (t-Bu2SnY)2 (Y S, Se, Te) have been synthesized and have been characterized by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy. All compounds form planar four-membered tin-chalcogen rings but show different crystal packings. A correlation of the chemical shifts δ(119Sn) with the electronegativities of the chalcogenes is given.
