The dehydrogenative condensation of organosilicon hydrides with alcoholic substances catalyzed by rhodium (I) complex was found to furnish a convenient route for the preparation of silylated alcohols.

Cross-dehydrogenativecoupling (CDC) of hydrosilanes with hydroxyl groups, using alkali metal hexamethyldisilazide as a single-component catalyst for the formation of Si–O bonds under mild condition, is reported.
