This invention relates to a rubber composition capable of using in a tread rubber of a tire to improve both an initial gripping performance and a running stability of the tire as compared with those of conventional tires, and more particularly to a rubber composition formed by compounding an indene-containing C9-based resin having a softening point of 130°C-190°C and an indene content of 30-80 mass% into a rubber component.
Provided are a rubber composition including: a rubber component formed of a diene-based rubber; and a filler, in which when an actual density determined by JIS K6268 method A is represented by dc, and a density and a mass fraction of a component i determined by constituent analysis are represented by di and φ i, respectively, dc·Σ(φi/di)≤0.980 satisfies a specific relationship, and hence the rubber composition reduces the weight of a tire without reducing the durability of the tire such as abrasion resistance and achieves a high level of balance between the weight reduction and a reduction in the rolling resistance of the tire, and a pneumatic tire using the composition.

The present invention provides a rubber composition that comprises a rubber component containing a polybutadiene and a dienic rubber or an olefinic rubber immiscible with the polybutadiene, and a filler, in which the Mooney viscosity (ML1+4/100°C) of the polybutadiene referred to as ML(I), and the Mooney viscosity (ML1+4/100°C) of the dienic rubber or the olefinic rubber immiscible with the polybutadiene referred to as ML(II) are in a relation of ML(I) ≥ ML(II), a method for producing the rubber composition and a tire using the rubber composition. The rubber composition is excellent in fracture resistance and capable of attaining good workability not lowering the durability such as abrasion resistance and the like of tires, and can reduce the rolling resistance of tires.
