  Pharmaceutical compositions for treating neoplastic disorders and uses thereof are provided. Said pharmaceutical compositions comprise stabilised chlorite solutions (eg, WFIO) and a fluoropyrimidine, 5-FU, or a 5-FU prodrug (eg, capecitabine, doxifluridine, UFT, S-1, or BOF-A2). The use of the above stabilised chlorite solution in combination with a fluoropyrimidine dramatically improves the quality of life index (QOL) of a patent undergoing cancer chemotherapy. Cancers that can be treated include cancers of the pancreas, gastrointestinal, head, neck and breast.
