Starting from 1,3- or 1,4-diphenyldecamethylcyclohexasilane, one phenyl group can be split off selectively by action of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. The syntheses of some new mixed substituted cyclohexasilanes 1,3- and 1,4-Ph-Si(6)Me(10)-X (X = CF3SO3, H, Cl or Br) are reported. By reaction of 1,3- and 1,4-Ph-Si(6)Me(10)-Cl with undecamethylcyclohexasilanyl potassium, novel monophenylated bi(cyclohexasilanyl) derivatives are obtained. The preparation of the corresponding monochlorinated derivatives is also reported.
