Three-component condensation of thiourea with equimolar amounts of formaldehyde and morpholine afforded N-(morpholin-4-ylmethyl) derivative, whereas analogous reaction with 2 equiv of formaldehyde and amine gave symmetrical N,N′-bis(morpholin-4-ylmethyl)thiourea.
