A cationically curable inkjet composition comprising: a) at least one non-silyl cationically curable monomer having one or more cationically curable functional groups selected from epoxide groups, oxetane groups, oxolane groups, 1,3-dioxolane groups and vinyl ether groups; b) a silyl component comprising an epoxide group and a trialkoxysilyl group; and c) a cationic photoinitiator; wherein the molar ratio of epoxide groups of the silyl component b) to the cationically curable functional groups of the cationically curable monomer a) is in the range of 0.05 to 0.55. The inkjet compositions exhibit strong adherence, scratch resistance and chemical resistance on a wide range of substrate types. The invention further relates to a process of decorating a glass, ceramic, metal or plastic substrate, comprising: i) inkjet printing a cationically curable inkjet composition as described above onto the substrate; and ii) initiating curing of the printed composition on the substrate by exposing the printed composition to radiation having a wavelength in the range of 200 to 450 nm.
