Synthesis, characterization and application of nano-sized Co2CrO4 spinel catalyst for selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides
摘要:
The nano-sized Co2CrO4 spinel was produced for the first time by thermal decomposition of Cr-Co gel prepared by sol-gel method. It was shown that well-crystallized spinel structure is formed after calcination at 450 degrees C. The usual characterizations were performed and the results showed the particle size of the prepared spinel is 9 nm. Moreover, the prepared nano-sized Co2CrO4 spinel was applied in a simple, efficient and recyclable method for selective oxidation of sulfides to their corresponding sulfoxides with aqueous hydrogen peroxide in tert-butanol. TiO2 nanoparticles and Preyssler-type heteropoly acid modified nano-sized TiO2: A facile and efficient catalyst for the selective oxidation of sulfides to sulfones and sulfoxides
A new and efficient synthetic method has been developed for the selective conversion of sulfides into their corresponding sulfones and sulfoxides using H2O2 in the presence of neat or Preyssler-type heteropoly acid modified nano-sized TiO2 as catalyst. respectively. The reaction was performed at room temperature with quantitative yields. The catalyst is reusable without significant loss of activity for the next oxidation reaction. (C) 2010 Elsevier B.V. Selective and mild oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides by H2O2 using DBUH-Br3 as catalyst
DBUH-Br-3 catalyzed selective conversion of sulfides to sulfoxides in the presence of H2O2 as oxidizing agent is described. The reaction was performed selectively at room temperature and relatively short reaction times. (C) 2010 Mehdi Bakavoli. Published by Elsevier B.V. on behalf of Chinese Chemical Society.
