Coulometric determination of rate of hydrolysis of complex salts

Rate constants of hydrolysis of complex salts can be determined rapidly and precisely by means of automatic coulometric analysis. Since the rate of hydrolysis is equal to the rate of disappearance of hydroxil ions, by keeping the hydroxide concentration constant in a solution by coulometric generation, the rate of generation of hydroxyl ions results equal to the rate of reaction.
