Standard enthalpy of formation of nickel trifluoride by isothermal calorimetry

The change in enthalpy in reactions of NiF3(s) with water and aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide are measured in the isothermal calorimetry mode at 298.15 K. The standard enthalpy of formation Delta(f) HA degrees of nickel trifluoride was found to be -816 +/- 6 kJ/mol.

Gaseous products of the thermaldecomposition of Ni(IV), Tb(IV), Mn(IV), and Pt(IV) complex fluorides were studied by high-temperature mass spectrometry. The results demonstrate that the decomposition of potassium hexafluoronickelate and potassium heptafluorotherbate is accompanied by atomic fluorine release and that K2NiF6 decomposes in two steps, at 570–670 and 700–850 K. p (F) and p (F2) measurements
