[Zn(NH3)4][PtCl6] and [Cd(NH3)4][PtCl6] as precursors for intermetallic compounds PtZn and PtCd
摘要:
Double complex salts (tetraamminezinc and tetraamminecadmium hexachloroplatinates) have been synthesized. Their thermal properties have been studied, as well as the products of their degradation in hydrogen and helium atmospheres. Optimal thermolysis schedules have been determined. Thermolysis under hydrogen yields intermetallic compounds PtZn and PtCd.

the elements is presented. The high vapor pressure of zinc, usually hindering a controlled synthesis, forms part of the developed synthesis strategy with a focus on the catalytically active intermetalliccompound ZnPd. The method provides excellent compositional control of better than 0.1 at% and results in dense samples without requiring detailed knowledge of the corresponding thermodynamics. Utilizing

Porous PtâM (M = Cu, Zn, Ni) nanoparticles (NPs) were obtained by reduction of [Pt(CH3NH2)4][PtCl4] and M(Ac)2 (or MCl2) with oleylamine under mild conditions. The porous PtâCu NPs exhibited superior catalytic activities over a Pt/Cu NP mixture and Cu NPs as references for CO oxidation processes.
The phase pure, unsupported intermetallic compound PtZn is intrinsically active and selective for chemoselectivehydrogenation of crotonaldehyde to crotyl alcohol in the absence of any support effects or auxiliary phases. During un-promoted reaction conditions, the PtZn surface becomes platinum enriched within the XPS sampling depth with respect to the 1:1 bulk stoichiometry. Catalyst modification
