  Compound 1 reacts with TEMPO to yield the disiloxane 5 as the major product. Stable germylenes 9 and 10 both reacted with TEMPO to yield the 1:2 adducts. The reaction of 1 with di-tert-butyl peroxide gave the 1:2 adduct 7 in addition to 15% of an unexpected trisilane, 8.
