New optically active organosilicon compounds such as (benzylmethylphenylsilyl)acetic acid (1) and (ethylmethylphenylsilyl)acetic acid (2) were synthesized. Application of these acids as the optical purity determining agents for chiral amines and alcohols were successfully carried out.
