Two new procedures for the gas-chromatographic analysis of monosaccharides are reported. One involves derivatization of the sugars by reaction with O-benzylhydroxylamine followed by trifluoroacetylation with N-methylbis(trifluoroacetamide) and chromatography on a DB-1701 capillary column.
