afforded in up to 97% yields for more than 30 examples. The obtained products are potentiallyvaluable in organic synthesis and drug discovery. This protocol featured with high efficiency, extensive functional group tolerance and mild reaction conditions. The one-step efficient construction of an anti-inflammatory agent confirms the practicability of this procedure.

been developed utilizing CuBr with N-methylmorpholine N-oxide (NMO/NMMO) for the oxidative coupling of anilines to access symmetrical and unsymmetrical azocompounds in high yield. The reactivity was found to be governed by electronic and stericfactors of anilines.

ortho-Metallation reactions of several η-cyclopentadleylruthenium complexes are described. The complex [RuMe(ηC5H5)(PPh3)2] affords [[graphic omitted]Ph2)(ηC5H5)(PPh3)], which with hexafluorobut-2-yne gives [[graphic omitted]Ph2}(ηC5H5)]. The tripheyl phosphite complex [Ru(η-C5H5)ClP(OPh)3}2] on heating yields [[graphic omitted](OPh)2}(η-C5H5)P(OPh)3}].With azobenzenes, m-RC6H4N:Nph (R = H, Me, OMe
strong bases (n-BuLi, s-BuLi/TMEDA, n-BuLi/t-BuOK, TMPMgCl·LiCl, and LDA) reduce the N═N bond of the parent azobenzene (Y = H), aromatic H→Li permutation occurs with LTMP when a suitable director of lithiation (Y = OMe, CONEt2, F) is present in the benzene residue of the azo compound. The method allows direct access to new substituted azobenzenes.

A synthetic method of a wide range of cinnolin-3(2H)-one derivatives is developed from the reaction of symmetrical as well as unsymmetrical azobenzenes with diazotized Meldrum’s acid via Rh-catalyzed C–H alkylation followed by cyclization.
