trane MeNHCH2Si(OCH2CH2)3N 2 was prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H, 13C, and 29Si NMR spectra. Solvate complex MeNHCH2Si(OCH2CH2)3N·C6H6 was isolated after recrystallization of silatrane 2 from benzene and its molecular structure has been determined by X-ray diffraction study. Abstract The reaction of 1-(methylaminomethyl)silatrane with Ph 3 CCl in the presence of base leads to the formation of 1-[(N-methyl-N-tritylamino)methyl]silatrane 1 . Recrystallization of this silatrane from benzene/heptane (10:1) led to the formation of the solvate complex Ph 3 C(Me)NCH 2 Si(OCH 2 CH 2 ) 3 N·C 6 H 6 , the molecular structure of which was determined by single crystal X-ray analysis

Abstract(N-methyl-N-alkoxymethylaminomethyl)-dialkoxysilanes and bis[N-methyl-N-(dialkoxymethyl)amino]methanes were first obtained by the interaction of (N-methylaminomethyl) dialkoxy-R-silanes with chloromethyl alkyl ethers in yields of 40–67% and 10–25 %, respectively.
