  Process for the preparation of 2,4,5-trichloropyrimidine, characterized in that compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R a radical which can be split off under the reaction conditions and R' an optionally substituted lower alkyl radical, Are reacted at temperatures from 0.degree. to 50.degree.
