    The present invention relates to a method for obtaining a triazine compound with at least one amino group comprising a an aliphatic moiety with at least two functional groups comprising the steps of a) providing at least one triazine compound of the general formulae (I) wherein - R1 and R2 mean independently from each other Q1 or a moiety of the formula R3-N-R4 or R5-N-R6 bound with its central nitrogen atom to the triazine ring of the structure of formula (I), whereat - Q1 means a linear or branched C1-C30-alkyl or a cyclic substituent in form of a C5-C20-cycloalkyl, a C5-C20-aryl, a C1-C20-alkylsubstituted C5-C20-aryl or an amide of a cyclic unsaturated carboxylic acid, whereat in each case one or multiple carbon atoms can be substituted by one or multiple oxygen atoms, sulphur atoms, substituted nitrogen atoms and/or by one or multiple groups of the type -C(O)O-,-OC(O)-,-C(O)- and/or -OC(O)O-, - R3, R4, R5 and R6 mean independently from each other H, linear or branched C1-C20-alkyl, C5-C20-cyclo alkyl, C5-C20-aryl, C1-C20-alkylsubstituted C5-C20-aryl,whereat in each case one or multiple carbon atoms can be substituted by one or multiple oxygen atoms, sulphur atoms and/or substituted nitrogen atoms and/or by one or multiple groups of the type -C(O)O-, -OC(O)-, -C(O)- and/or -OC(O) O- and/or can be functionalized by one or multiple hydroxyl groups and/or mercapto groups; and b) reacting said aminotriazine of the general formulae (I) with at least one primary amine of the general formulae (II)         R7NH2 wherein R7 is a linear or branched C3-C20-alkyl, C5-C20 cycloalkyl, C5-C20 aryl substituted C3-C20-alkyl, or C5-C20-aryl substituted C5-C20-cycloalkyl, C5-C20 aryl or C1-C20 alkylsubstituted C5-C20 aryl each comprising at least two functional groups, or a mixture of primary amines of the general formulae (II), wherein the at least two functional groups are not bound to the carbon atom carrying the primary amino group -NH2, and wherein the at least two functional groups are not bound to the same carbon atom, c) wherein the reaction takes place in the presence of at least one acidic catalyst. The present invention relates also to the compounds obtained by this method and their use.

    (Object) It is to provide an epoxy/acid anhydride composition comprising an epoxy compound and an acid anhydride serving as a curing agent wherein a substituted triazine of a specific structure is employed as a curing accelerator to thereby impart a long pot life, a high storage stability and good working characteristics to the composition and cause no defect such as bubbling or cracking in the cured resin. (Constitution of the invention) An epoxy/acid anhydride composition characterized by containing, as a curing accelerator, a substituted triazine of the formula [] (wherein X is an amino group, C1-18 monoalkylamino group, di C1-18 alkylamino group, morpholino group, piperidino group, methyl group or phenyl group; R1 and R2 independently each represent C1-12 alkyl group, C1-12 hydroxyalkyl group, C4-8 cycloalkyl group, C5-9 cycloalkylmethyl group or C5-9 methylcycloalkyl group) in an epoxy/acid anhydride composition in which an epoxy compound and an acid anhydride-curing agent are contained, and an epoxy/acid anhydride resin composition prepared by thermosetting the epoxy/acid anhydride composition.

    A method for modifying 1,3,5-triazine derivatives characterized by reacting a 1,3,5-triazine derivative having at least one amino or monosubstituted amino group on any of the ring carbon atoms with an alcohol by heating in the presence of a metallic catalyst and hydrogen to thereby introduce an alkyl or alkenyl group into each amino or monosubstituted amino group; another method for modifying 1,3,5-triazine derivatives characterized by reacting a 1,3,5-triazine derivative having at least one amino or monosubstituted amino group on any of the ring carbon atoms with a dihydric alcohol by heating in the presence of a metallic catalyst and hydrogen to thereby introduce a hydroxylated alkyl group into each amino or monosubstituted amino group; and 1,3,5-triazine derivatives obtained by the methods. The various modified substituted 1,3,5-triazine derivatives thus produced are generally obtained as a mixture. These derivatives can be isolated as high-purity compounds by a general separation method for organic compounds, and the compounds are usable in the various applications mentioned in the specification. According to applications (for example, use as modifier additives, in particular a flame-retardant and a plasticizer for resins), the reaction mixture can be used as it is without being separated. Many of the substituted triazine derivatives obtained have been relatively difficult to synthesize or expensive. Since many of the derivatives are interesting with respect to their physical properties, e.g., solubility in water and in various organic solvents, high-temp. stability, melting point, boiling point, and basicity, they are thought to have a wider range of applications than conventional ones.

    A reactive liquid crosslinking agent for use in the preparation of polymeric substances. The crosslinking agent comprises a substituted 1,3,5 Triazine reacted with water, an acid alkyl sulfonate and/or phosphonate and a solidifying modifier containing an hydroxyl functional group. The reactive liquid polymer crosslinking agent has a solids content between 20-99% solids. The reactive liquid crosslinking agents (RLPC's) are useful as modifiers in the preparation of polymeric compounds which are suitable for one-component self-crosslinking adhesives, coatings and polymers used in optics, textiles, composites, casting and molding. RLPC systems containing from 1-30% RLPC provide fast single package thermosetting polymeric compounds with enhanced properties such as chemical, heat and abrasion resistance.
