  The mechanism of vacuum pyrolysis of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, allyloxy- and allyl(allyloxy)-dimethylsilanes, and 2,2,6-trimethyl-2-silapyrane, potential sources of transient dimethylsilanone, has been studied by matrix isolation IR spectroscopy.
