The tetra-carbanion formed from methyl-lithium and octamethylcyclotetraphosphazene reacts with methyl iodide and with the chlorides Me3XCl(X = Si, Ge, Sn) to give N4P4Me4(CH2R)4(R = Me, XMe3).
