  A series of linear 1,3-bis(triorganostannoxy)siloxanes (R(3)'SnO)R(2)SiOSiR(2)(OSnR(3)') (R = Me; Ph; R' = Ph, (n)Bu, c-C6H11) has been synthesised, and the compounds characterised by NMR (H-1, C-13, Si-29 and Sn-119) and Mossbauer spectroscopies. The structure of the homoleptic compound R = R' = Ph has been determined by an X-ray diffraction study.
