  Cobaloxime complex [(H2O)(dimethylglyoxime)(2)Co(I)] (generated in situ) reacts with an allenic electrophile to produce 1,3-butadien-2-yl(H2O)bis(dimethylglyoximato)cobalt(III). This dienyl complex (which has also been characterized by X-ray crystallography) reacts with a number of dienophiles in both water and organic solvents.
