1,1-dimethylsilanimine (Me2SiNH) was generated from two different precursors, under flash vacuum thermolysis (FVT) conditions, either by retro-[2 + 2] or by retro-ene cleavage. This very reactive silanimine was characterized by formation of its cyclo-dimer, analyzed by FVT/HRMS, as well as by the production of its adduct with t-butanol.
