  N,N′-Di-t-butylamino-N,N′-dilithiomethylborane (1) and bromomethyldimethylbromostannane (2) react in diethyl ether to give 1,3-di-t-butyl-2,4,4-trimethyl-1,3-diaza-4-stanna-2-borolidine (3). The X-ray structure analysis of 3 at −125°C shows the existence of a planar five membered ring. (P21/c; a 1164.7(4), b 1494.5(9), c 1874.4(19) pm, β 102.37(4)°; V 3.187(3) × 109 pm3.)
