The present invention discloses a nanophase carbon black grafted with organic compounds, comprising (a) a first component: 100 parts by weight of original carbon black particles, and (b) a second component: 5-300 parts by weight of grafting organic compounds having or producing free radicals which is grafted onto the surface of the carbon black, wherein the molecular weight of the grafting organic compounds is 100-10000, and the nanophase carbon black has a particle size of 1-100 nm. The invention also discloses the synthesis thereof and articles therefrom.

The present invention discloses opaque and white monofilaments that retain tensile strength even after exposure to high levels of UV light. Monofilaments of the present invention do not become brittle even after exposure to the equivalent of three to six months of Florida sun. Monofilaments of the present invention can be useful in brushes, filtration media, monofilament fabrics, synthetic hair for wigs, doll hair, and other applications where monofilaments can be used that are stored or sold in an environment where there is a substantial degree of exposure to the sun.

The present invention relates to a composition containing carbon black, in which a number average particle size of Feret's diameter is 5 to 300 nm and primary particles are contained at 5% or more on a number basis.
The composition of the present invention is uniform in coloring and conductivity and makes it possible to be uniform in coloring and conductivity of final forms using those compositions.
