The structure and Si-29 chemical shifts of nine undecamethylcyclohexasilanyl derivatives, Si6Me11X (X = Fe(CO)2cp, SO3CF3,F,Cl,Br,I,H,C CH, OH), have been assigned using 1J(Si-Si) and 2JSi-Si) derived from Si-29-INADEQUATE and Si-29-INEPT-INADEQUATE and Si-29-INEPT-INADEQUATE NMR spectra. Only the halo-derivatives exhibit linear correlation between 1J(Si-Si) and Pauling electronegativities. The correlation of other derivatives is improved by employing Inamato's inductivity values. A new synthetic route of Si6Me11X (X = F, Cl, Br, I) has been developed.
