The alkaline earth metal salts of 5,5′-BT, [Be(H2O)4](5,5′-BT)·H2O (1), [Mg(H2O)6(5,5′-BT)·3H2O (2), [Ca(H2O)4(5,5′-BT)]·H2O (3), [Sr(H2O)4(5,5′-BT)]·2DMF (4), and [Ba(H2O)4(5,5′-BT)] (5) were fully characterized by low temperature X-ray diffraction, vibrational (IR, Raman) and NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
