Abstract The partial ternary system LaPO 4 -K 3 PO 4 -K 4 P 2 O 7 has been investigated by differential thermal analysis and powder X-ray diffraction and its phase diagram deduced. Two systems K 3 La(PO 4 ) 2 -K 4 P 2 O 7 and LaPO 4 -K 4 P 2 O 7 have been found to occur in this region. Their phase diagrams have also been determined.
