    A polyolefin composition contains (1) from 0.01 to 1.0 part by weight of tris(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-isocyanurate, (2) from 0.01 to 0.5 part by weight of a pentaerythritol diphosphite compound represented by the formula: where R, represents a methyl group, a tertiary butyl group or a tertiary amyl group, R2 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a tertiary butyl group, a tertiary amyl group, a phenyl group or a cyclohexyl group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a tertiary butyl group and R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a tertiary butyl group, provided that not all of R2, R3 and R4 simultaneously represent hydrogen atoms, (3) from 0.01 to 1.0 part by weight of one compound selected from phenyl benzoate compounds, benzotriazole compounds and benzophenone compounds and (4) from 0.01 to 1.0 part by weight of a heterocyclic hindered amine compound which are blended with 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin. Extremely excellent light stability, particularly, at high temperature is obtained.

    A process for producing pre-expanded particles of a thermoplastic resin, wherein said particles are of a polyolefin obtained by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst, and contain not more than 1% by weight of particles of diameter up to 105 µm and having a particle size distribution represented by:R(Dp) = 100exp[-(Dp/De)n] where Dp is300 or more and represents a particle diameter (µ m); R(Dp) represents a cumulative weight percentage; De represents an absolute size constant that is a particle diameter (µm) corresponding to R(Dp) 36.8% by weight; and n is 25 or more and is a distribution constant. The process can be carried out by dispersing the particles in a liquid medium (e.g. water) containing a blowing agent (e.g. an aliphatic hydrocarbon) and a phenolic antioxidant, heating to above the softening point of the polymer, and releasing the dispersion into a zone of lower pressure. Pre-expanded polyolefin particles free from scatters of cell diameter or particle diameter and having a high expansion ratio are obtained, which can be put into a mold for expansion molding to easily provide a uniformly expanded article.

    A long-glass-fiber reinforced polyolefin molding is conventionally known as being excellent in mechanical strength, but has a drawback of low weathering resistance. Also, the addition of a colorant causes deterioration in the mechanical properties of a conventional molding. The present invention provides a long-glass-fiber reinforced polyolefin molding having excellent weathering resistance and high mechanical strength, and a material composition therefor, and also provides a molding which causes no deterioration in both properties even by coloring, and a composition therefor. Namely, the present invention provides a composition comprising at least (A) long-glass-fiber reinforced polyolefin pellets which are obtained by impregnating a bundle of glass fibers with a polyolefin and then cutting the glass fibers in a length of 2 to 150 mm in the direction of the fibers, and which contain 10 to 90 wt% of glass fibers, the glass fibers in the pellets being arranged in substantially the same length as the pellets, (B) a photostabilizer, and (C) a photoabsorber, wherein the total amount of (B) the photostabilizer and (C) the photoabsorber is 0.25 to 7.5 parts by weight based on the total of 100 parts by weight of polyolefin. The present invention also provides a long-glass-fiber reinforced polyolefin molding comprising at least (a) a polyolefin, (b) glass fibers having a fiber length of 2 to 150 mm, (B) a photostabilizer, and (C) a photoabsorber, wherein the total amount of (B) the photostabilizer and (C) the photoabsorber is 0.25 to 7.5 parts by weight based on the total of 100 parts by weight of polyolefin, the content of the glass fibers is 10 to 90 wt%. It was also found that even when the molding is colored black with carbon black or colored gray with zinc sulfide, the both properties can be maintained by setting the mixing ratio to the additives to within a specified range.

    According to the invention, a synthetic resin composition for the manufacture of parts which require a low coefficient of friction for example bearing parts or other sliding parts having a number of desirable properties is provided. The resin composition is made of a fine powder of RBC, CRBC and mixtures of RBC and CRBC dispersed in a synthetic resin. The RBC and /or CRBC fine powder have an average particle diameter of less than 10µm, optionally 1 to less than 10µm, preferably 1µm to 5µm. Desirably the weight percent of the RBC and/or CRBC is from 10% to 70% preferably from 30% to 70% of the entire composition and is uniformly dispersed in the resin.    In another aspect of the invention, parts desirably having particularly a low coefficient of friction are fabricated according to the invention from the resin composition. The parts can be made molded desirably extrusion or injection molded from the resin composition according to the invention to form for a bearing or portion thereof or other device requiring a low coefficient of friction. The fabricated products are desirable for use with or without lubrication. The resulting products have a desirable low coefficient of friction improved durability, mechanical strength, and lubricating oil retention.
