Some kinetic aspects of the catalytic oxidation of carbon with atmospheric oxygen and nitrogen oxide NO in the presence of catalysts based of cesium lanthanum vanadate were studied. The influence exerted by a promoter, cesium sulfate, and its content on the course of catalytic reactions was analyzed.

Phase transition and freezing of disordered ionic orientation in CsNO2 crystal

Heat capacity anomalies due to phasetransition and glass transition were found at 209.16 ± 0.10 K and around 41 K. Dielectric relaxation was observed between 58 and 130 K. An anomalous effect, probably related to the orientational dynamics of the NO−2 ion, was found in laser-Raman spectra of the bending vibration of the anion.
