The compound B8F12, prepared by disproportionation of of F2BBFBF2, has been characterised. It is believed to be a structural analogue of diborane. It has been treated with electron-pair donors to give complexes (BF2)3BL (L = CO, PF3, PCl3, PH3, AsH3, and SMe2).
