    The application of spontaneous flocculation for the preparation of lanthanide-containing polyoxometalates intercalated layered double hydroxides: highly efficient heterogeneous catalysts for cyanosilylation
    摘要:
    The lanthanide-containing polyoxometalates (POMs) have been intercalated into layered double hydroxides (LDHs) successfully through the spontaneous flocculation method, resulting in the formation of new heterogeneous LDHs-POMs catalysts Mg3Al-LnW(10) (Ln = Eu, Tb and Dy). The synthetic method can prevent Mg2+/Al3+ cations leaching out of the LDHs during intercalation and successfully control the final Mg2+/Al3+ ratio in the corresponding (MgAl)-Al-3-LnW(10). Most importantly, the as-prepared Mg3Al-LnW(10) can be obtained without the formation of the impurity phase. The heterogeneous Mg3Al-EuW10 exhibits highly efficient catalytic reactivity for cyanosilylation of various aldehydes and ketones under solvent-free conditions. The Mg3Al-EuW10 can be easily recovered and reused for at least 10 times without obvious decrease of catalytic activity and the composition and the structure of the Mg3Al-EuW10 catalyst remain stable. Moreover, the Mg3Al-EuW10-catalyzed cyanosilylation of benzaldehyde and hexanal gives the highest TON of 119,950 and 119,906, respectively. (c) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

    The invention provides a layered double hydroxide compound for use in modulating an immune response to an antigen, and an immune modulator composition comprising the layered double hydroxide and an antigen. The compound is of formula (I), (II), or (III) [M I M III 2 (OH) 6 ] +[A n− 1/n ]  (I) [M II (1−x) M III x (OH) 2 ] x+ [A n− x/n ]  (II) [M II M III 4 (OH) 12 ][A n− 2/n ]  (III) in which M I is Li + , M II is a divalent metal cation or a mixture of two or more divalent metal cations, M III is a trivalent metal cation or a mixture of two or more trivalent metal cations, or a mixture of one or more trivalent metal cation with one or more quadravalent metal cation, x is from ⅕ to ⅓, and A is an interlayer anion having a charge n, wherein optionally some or all of the interlayer anion A may be replaced by one or biologically active agent and/or one or more antigen, and wherein A is selected from conjugate bases of acids having a pKa of 1 or higher, except for in LDHs of formula (II) when M II comprises Ca 2+ and in LDHs of formula (I), wherein A is selected from conjugate bases of acids having a pKa of −4 or higher.

  • Green phenol hydroxylation by ultrasonic-assisted synthesized Mg/Cu/Al-LDH catalyst with different molar ratios of Cu2+/Mg2+

    Nitrate-intercalated Mg/Cu/Al-layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were successfully synthesized by the co-precipitation method under ultrasonic irradiation as a fast, simple, and low-cost technique. The LDHs were synthesized with six different molar ratios of Cu2+/Mg2+, and then they were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TGA, ICP, BET, TEM, and FE-SEM analyses. The results showed that the nitrate ions were well intercalated between layers without any carbonate ions. According to the XRD and TGA results, increasing of Cu ions in the LDHs lowered the crystallization and improved the thermal stability of samples at the same time. The morphological studies carried out by FE-SEM and TEM analyses showed the morphological structure similar to the lamellar structure and plate-like shape particles. However, the surface property of binary LDHs, including Al and only one of Cu or Mg elements, was better than ternary ones. Furthermore, this catalyst was used for the phenol hydroxylation using H2O2 as oxidant and water as a solvent. The results exhibit that the CuMg32Al-NO3− catalyst had the best catalytic activity, as well as it was found that the catalyst is active under mild reaction conditions such as the temperature of 65 °C, phenol: oxidant ratio of 2:1, phenol/catalyst = 100, and reaction time of 1 h. Thus, these conditions gave better activity with the conversion of 27%, the selectivity of 92.05% for catechol and hydroquinone, and CAT/HQ ratio of 1.5.
