one-pot reactions of bromotrinitromethane with bicyclobutylidene and methylenecyclobutanes provide a simple route to halogen-substituted isoxazolidines of mixed composition. With these same olefins, iodotrinitromethane gives adducts which decomposed rapidly to yield the corresponding isoxazolines.
