    Mixed trialkyl phosphates were synthesized by oxidative phosphorylation of alcohols with dialkyl phosphonates and oxygen in the presence of copper(II) chloride in fairly good yields.

    Some mixed phosphites having two different alkyl chain were obtained as forerunners for mixed phosphates Mixed dialkyl phosphates were obtained in good yields (40-80%) by phase transfer catalysis in liquid-liquid sistem, starting from different dialkyl phosphites and aliphatic alcohols. The reaction conditions were optimized in order to obtain good yields in phosphites and phosphates respectively.

A method of selectively hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons to an unsaturated hydrocarbon enriched composition comprising contacting a supported catalyst comprising palladium and an organophosphorous compound with a feed comprising highly unsaturated hydrocarbon under conditions suitable for hydrogenating at least a portion of the highly unsaturated hydrocarbon feed to form the unsaturated hydrocarbon enriched composition.

    Disclosed is a styrene-based resin composition that comprises 5-20 parts by mass of (D) a fire retardant per 100 parts by mass of a resin composition (1) that comprises 30-51 mass % of (A) a graft copolymer obtained by graft polymerization of a diene rubber polymer with an aromatic vinyl monomer and an unsaturated nitrile monomer, 10-55 mass % of (B) a copolymer comprising two or more monomers selected from among aromatic vinyl monomers, unsaturated nitrile monomers and unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester monomers, and 15 to 39% by mass of a copolymer (C) comprising one kind of unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester monomers, or two or more unsaturated carboxylic acid alkyl ester monomers, ((A)+(B)+(C)=100 mass %), wherein the diene rubber polymer constitutes 15-25 mass % of the resin composition (1).

    A process for the preparation of liquid poly­methylene polyphenylene polyisocyanate blends containing carbodiimide-uretonimine isocyanate linkages, containing a high two-ring methylene bis(phenylisocyanate) content, and light colored polyurethane foams made therefrom. The process is comprised of reacting polymethylene polyphenylene polyisocyanate with a catalytically effective amount of a carbodiimide-uretonimine promoting compound at a temperature sufficient to promote the formation of carbodiimide-­uretonimine linkages and an isocyanate content of about 25 percent and the desired viscosity is reached, and then reacting that product to deactivate the carbodiimide-­uretonimine catalyst, and finally blending two ring methylene bis(phenylisocyanate) with the product to produce a mixture having a two ring isocyanate content of about 60 percent of the total ring content and a viscosity comparable to standard polymeric MDI. Urethane foams made from this material are lighter in color than those formed from standard polymeric MDI.
