  1-(6,9-Dimethyl-1,4-dioxa-8-azaspiro [4,5] dec-8-ylmethyl)-1H-pyridin-2-one was prepared by the Mannich reaction from 6,9-dimethyl-1,4-dioxa-8-azaspiro[4,5]decane, formaldehyde, and pyridin-2-one in alcohol. Its structure was proved by NMR spectroscopy. This compound exhibits a growth-regulating activity.
