简而言之,饲料添加药是在饲料加工、贮存、调配或饲喂过程中用于防治疾病、促进生长及提高饲料利用率和质量的一类微量化学药物。主要分为两大类:生长促进药与防病保健药,还包括饲料保存剂(如防霉药)和着色剂等。
含有这类添加剂的配合饲料被称为加药饲料,与含营养添加剂(如维生素、氨基酸等)的配合饲料有所不同。加药饲料在用于生产食品动物时存在休药期及允许残留量等问题,因此按规定药物必须先制成预混剂,不得直接加入饲料中使用。
