    The present invention relates to a method for producing a dehydrated liquid mixture for use as a solvent for conducting salts (e.g. LiPF6) wherein the water content is reduced, starting from a liquid starting mixture comprising one, two, three or more organic carbonates in a total amount of 90 % by weight or more, based on the total amount of the liquid starting mixture and one, two or more compounds selected from the group consisting of (a) acids with a pKa below 4 and (b) precursors releasing acids with a pKa below 4 in the liquid starting mixture by hydrolysis.
