Abstract SiO reacts with F 2 , in an argon matrix after photolysis with a high-pressure mercury lamp to form OSiF 2 . Isotopic splitting ( 16 O/ 18 O and 28 Si/ 29 Si) and force constant calculations show that the 6 fundamentals observed can be assigned to the planar molecule OSiF 2 .
