  Disclosed are a composition, and a process for preparation thereof, which composition comprises a novel alicyclic compound and an epoxidized compound thereof represented respectively by formulae (I) and (II) wherein Y¹ represents at least one of the structural groups Y² represents at least one of the the structural groups Ra and Rb each represent hydrogen or a methyl group, m represents a natural number of from 1 to 7, and n represents a natural number of from 1 to 20.
