The following compounds have been shown to be unreactive toward liquid S at temperatures up to 400°: TiO2, TiCl4, CrCl3, and MnO2. The principal products (in parenthesis) of the reactions of S with other oxides, halides and oxyhalides of Ti, V, Cr and Mn are: TiOCl2 (TiS2), V2O5 (VO2 at 250°; V3O5 at 400°), VOCl3 (VOCl2, VCl4 and VCl3 at 125 and 250°; VCl3 at 400°), CrO3 (Cr3O8 at 250°; Cr2O3 and Cr3O8
