Biochem/physiol Actions A3′→5′ exonuclease catalyzes the removal of mononucleotides from the 3′-end of dsDNA. The enzyme also possesses apurinic and apyrimidinic endonuclease, 3′-DNA phosphatase, and RNase H activities. Its activity is strongly dependent on temperature, salt concentration, and the ratio of enzyme to DNA; reaction conditions must be optimized for specific applications.
