Reactions in the CeCo3-H-2 and GdNi3-H-2 systems were studied at hydrogen pressures of up to 0.2 GPa. Using hydrogen absorption-desorption isotherms, the compositions of the high-pressure hydrides were determined to be CeCo3H6.8 (-70 degreesC) and GdNi3H5.1 (-50 degreesC). According to x-ray diffraction studies, high-pressure hydrogen absorption to above the stoichiometry CeCo3H4 is accompanied by insignificant volume changes. In the GdNi3-H-2 system, the hydride phase amorphizes at high hydrogen contents.

Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect in Gd(Ni1−xCox)3 intermetallic compounds
Abstract In this paper, we present magnetic properties of polycrystalline Gd(Ni 1− x Co x ) 3 intermetalliccompounds. The partial replacement of Ni by Co atoms causes the increase in Curie temperature T C . Influence of Fe substitution on the structure and magnetic properties in Gd(Ni1−xFex)3 intermetallic compounds
Abstract In this paper, we present crystal structure, electronic structure and magnetic properties of pollicrystalline Gd(Ni1−xFex)3 intermetalliccompounds.
