                                The extraction of Au(III) with 25,26,27,28-Terakis[(ethoxycarbonyl)methoxy]- p-tert-Butylcalix-[4]Arene(L) into 1,2-dichloroethane was investigated. The presence of Na+ in the aqueous phase was necessary for the extraction. The Au(111) was extracted by forming an ion-pair compound of [NaL](+)[AuX4](-) center dot(X=Cl, Br, SCN) and [NaL](+)[AuI2](-). The complex of [NaL](+)[AuCl4](-) crystallized in the monoclinic, P2(1)/c.
