Reaction of rhenaenolates [(eta5-C5Me5)(NO)(PPh3)Re(COCH2Li)] (2) and [Re(CO)4(PPh3)(OSO2CF3)] in THF at -78-degrees-C gave the mu-ketene complex [eta5-C5Me5) (NO)(PPh3)Re[mu-(COCH2)-C1:C2]Re(CO)4(PPh3)](5). The structure of (5) was determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis.
