  Abstract The synthesis of the compounds [K(18-crown-6)][BiCo(CO)4}4] (1c) and [PPN][BiCo(CO)4}4] (1d) (PPN = Ph3PNPPh3) are described together with the X-ray crystal structure of 1c. Compound 1c crystallises in the orthorhombic space group Pbca, with a = 11.4295(6), b = 23.5236(13), c = 30.9806(22) A . Final R = 0.0345, Rw2=0.0750.
