Absolute measurements of the low magnetic field microwave absorption in YBa2Cu3O7−δ ceramics

Absolute measurements of the magnetic-field-dependent nonresonant microwave absorption have been made in polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O7-delta-bulk samples. In low magnetic fields of several Oe the surface resistance at 9.4 GHz has the form of R = R0 + beta-H-2 where beta = (0.6-2) x 10(-3)-OMEGA/Oe2 at 4.2 K and (3-8) x 10(-3) OMEGA/Oe2 at 77 K. These values agree rather well with calculations within the model of the effective Josephson medium.
