Abstract From measurements of inelastic neutron scattering in the intermetalliccompound CeCu 5 at temperatures of 10, 80, and 300 K the crystalline electric field (CEF) parameters B 2 = 1.76 meV and B 4 = −2.36 ·10 −2 meV have been derived. The specific heatcapacity in the temperature range between 0.3 and 8K exhibits an anomaly at 3.1 K, which is ascribed to an antiferromagnetic phase transition
