Abstract The magnetic properties of some of the intermetallic compounds R 2 Pt have been studied by means of susceptibilitymeasurements. The compounds are probably ferrimagnetic or they possess some noncollinear structure. With the exception of Gd 2 Pt two magnetic transitions with temperature are observed.
