Pyrolyses of [Ru3(CO)10(μ-dmpm)] and [Ru3(CO)8(μ-dmpm)2], (dmpm Me2PCH2PMe2) in refluxing toluene gives the novel clusters [Ru3(CO)9(μ-H)(μ3-η3-Me2PCHPMe2)] (1) and [Ru3(CO)7(μ3-η2-MePCH2PMe2)(μ3-η3-Me2PCHPMe2] (2) which contain the unusual five-electron bridging ligands Me2PCHPMe2 or MePCH2PMe2 respectively.
